Hello Everyone

I have a project where I am going to renovate an old plaster that has fallen apart due to moisture in a foundation that I define as kallmur (?)

We have sealed off the source of moisture from above and are now planning to address the plaster.

Currently, I am trying to decide which method to use and which mortar! The questions are varied. Mesh or not? Do I need a thin base coat? Should I apply a slurry with cement mortar A or B plaster? Should I scrape everything clean?

The finish plaster will be some form of dashed plaster with 0-8 ballast. The desired final result can also be seen in one of the pictures I have attached!

If you have any ideas, you are welcome to share them.

My current plan is to apply a thin base coat, apply slurry with mortar A to 3 cm, mesh, apply slurry with plaster mortar B, finish with surface plaster (dashed plaster).

  • Weathered stone mortar wall with signs of moisture damage and crumbling surface, next to grassy area, part of renovation project.
  • Close-up of an old brick wall with damaged plaster on the left and a newly plastered section on the right, showing renovation progress.
  • Close-up of an old stone foundation wall with visible wear and exposure, adjacent to a grassy landscape under a clear blue sky.
Wash with high pressure.
Prime with a thin layer of rödgrund applied with a kalkborste, then mesh and finish with b-bruk.
If it's a solid-colored surface render, you should paint the surface with a primer the same color as the render so that any mistakes are not visible.
