Our hallway is original from '72 and we're thinking of brightening it up a bit. Besides a lighter color on the walls, we're also thinking of painting the stairs white. I guess the actual painting isn't a problem, except that it will likely take a long time to sand/paint. When it comes to the stair treads, they have cork inserts. What is the best way to replace them and with what? I've seen that there are ready-made laminate sheets you just glue on. Are there other options that won't cost 20k after ROT?
