I have a question for you knowledgeable folks;
I'm renovating a guest toilet. There's a toilet and a sink.
I've torn off the tiles that were on half of the wall, behind the toilet and sink. Now I see it's very uneven and I'm wondering how to solve this before putting on new tiles.
Should I put some kind of board? Sanding is not an option...
This wall, behind the wallpaper and tiles, is made up of particle board, then a void, and ends with another particle board. It's an interior wall. There don't seem to be any studs.
I plan to hang a bathroom cabinet. Does it matter if I put any board on top of the existing particle board or not, regarding the cabinet's durability?
Do I need to mention that I'm a happy AMATEUR?
How do I best attach a possible board, when there are no studs? Glue?

No answers? Nobody knows?
I am aware that the question might seem "simple," but if I add that I am a woman, 52 years old, single, and on disability benefits, and I simply can't afford to outsource the work, maybe some kind person can help me with my question...?
I find it hard to believe that no one has knowledge about my question. I perceive this forum as a place where one can ask questions, but is it perhaps only for those who already can and know?

In what way is it uneven?
I would probably have put up a so-called våtrumsskiva, rigid, does not move, hard and stable, and is water-resistant. You should screw the board up preferably.
The overhead cabinet will sit well in the wall then, but if you're worried, you can attach it with molly bolts, for example.
Impressive that you manage to renovate despite being on sick leave.
