Render dropped, tips on repair?

Hello,
I hope for some tips on how to repair this damage. I believe it is plaster on hollow concrete that has come loose. What material should I use and how should I rebuild the damaged area?

Clear out, get some plaster, maybe 1-2 kg, mix a suitable paste (like putty) and fill the hole. Smooth it out after a while by scraping with a piece of wood, the joint will be visible. If the neighbors are building a house or somewhere else, ask if you can get or buy a little from them.
