removed molly screw and damaged wall
Hi everyone!
I need some help now. We previously had a shelf mounted in a room and then removed it. This shelf was mounted with several molly screws in our drywall. Today, after reading in other threads, I thought I'd remove them by cutting them off but failed completely. I tried to simply remove the "head" to cut it off but instead, the drywall came with it, and the result is that I now have a wall that looks like someone shot a gun in it. Large hole with three long cracks in it. The cracks extend about 15-20 cm in diameter.
I'm a bit embarrassed and want to try to fix this in the best way possible. The room hasn't been done up previously and is supposed to be redone (was planned to wait with this room until later, maybe I have to rethink now) so the wall and other walls aren't exactly nice right now either.
How do I fix this in the best way? And should I ignore pulling out the other molly screws and just skim over everything? The only thing I think is that the molly screws might prevent putting up other screws in the future by leaving the old ones in place....
Thankful for answers as soon as possible (before the husband comes home on Sunday...) :blushing:

Hello.
Regarding cracks and small holes.
Take a plaster knife, or any other very sharp knife (razor blade) and trim the edges, then putty.
Regarding the molly:
I usually take a punch, or small socket that matches the outer diameter of the molly and tap them in a couple of mm, then putty over.
Good luck.
