Remove window

Hello, I have an unwanted window in the hallway that I would like to get rid of... the house has a wooden facade followed by... whatever is on the inside.

It just struck me now that I don't have a sensible picture, and I'm not there right now either, but I'm attaching a picture of another window that's in a stud wall with insulation, just like the first window that I want to remove completely.

How should I proceed?

1. Remove the window.
2. Remove the horizontal beams.
3. Insulate and install the outer panel.

Number two is optional.
A reciprocating saw can be helpful.
