remove roofing nails from ceiling

I have a really nice ceiling that I would love to keep, but it has been converted to a paper ceiling once, which means I have long rows of paper nails in my ceiling. Does anyone have any tricks or special tools to remove these nails without damaging the ceiling? Best regards, Andreas

We have used this one from Jula.

Worked great for pulling out, if it's really stuck you can use a hammer to drive it in and then pry it away.

A pair of pincers can be useful for "flärpa" up the head of the nail a bit - if you have trouble gripping with the iron.

have used a small crowbar myself. Hammer in one hand, the bar in the other. Place the crowbar against the nail, hit with the hammer, and pry. Goes pretty quickly once you've got the rhythm down.
