Hello,
I have a small laundry room that I'm going to convert into a regular room. I'm planning to lay laminate flooring in there, and I need to cover the drain and level the floor somehow. (there's a slope towards the drain)
Is the best way to use self-leveling compound? What do I do with the drain then?
Does anyone have any good and affordable alternatives?

Bottom the well, e.g., stuff a bunch of insulation or something, but make sure it's enough so it doesn't fall down, and seal it with concrete. A spontaneous thought.

Yes, that sounds reasonable. But it's self-leveling compound that you should use to even it out, right?
It's a small room of 1.6x1.6m. How much self-leveling compound will I need then, what do you think, and what is the approximate cost? I've heard that self-leveling compound can be quite expensive.

Self-leveling compound, about one bag I would think is enough. The price is probably around 250-350:- / 25kg.

How much filler is needed depends entirely on the size of the floor slope. Try to estimate approximately how much volume needs to be filled.
