Hello!

I want to remove plaster with a rough (about 5 mm deep), striped texture from some (concrete) walls indoors, above ground. The plaster is painted over, but I assume it is gypsum plaster (how can you tell the difference?). What kind of tools would you recommend to remove/even out the entire layer of plaster to achieve a smooth and paintable surface?

Best regards,

The happy amateur

If it is gypsum plaster, you can sand it easily.
It obviously creates a lot of dust, but it's doable.
Rent a wall sander with a suction attachment.

If you want to remove the entire layer, rent a demolition hammer.
They remove plaster quickly, but this also creates dust...
