It's a bit like a half I-beam simply, I might consider it, it would be useful as a setup for building monkey bars on the ceiling later as well.

The original problem was really that I wanted to be able to hang bags from the ceiling, and instead of building a set of completely parallel beams with existing rafters, it seemed wiser to screw them together, but attaching them underneath was not something I had considered (except as a second step, as I had planned to have a beam in the opposite direction attached to several rafters where I would then hang the bags).
