Is it true that there is specific reinforcement used when "building" with glass concrete blocks? What does it look like and where can you get it?

A related question. I have also heard that there are "crosses" (like tile crosses) to facilitate the actual building. Does anyone know more about these?

Why was it stainless? Was it so you could shower on the wall without the reinforcement rusting or? In my case, the wall won't get wet so maybe regular reinforcement would work?

Don't know why stainless steel, but that's what it says in the PDF file so it doesn't feel wrong. It could be that any moisture, which is always present or added during masonry, causes regular reinforcement to rust more and stain in a way that shows.

Are there specific stainless steel reinforcement bars, or can one simply go and buy a 5 mm threaded stainless steel rod (at Jula or similar) and use it?

I bought stainless steel rebar at Silvan, diameter 5 or 6 I think it was, cost a few tens for a 2-meter one.
