I have actually bought 84 drywall sheets where I had planned to also finish walls and ceilings in the future laundry room. (the reason I mentioned the number is to lightly shock everyone since I've talked so anti-drywall in previous questions)
But, now it struck me that the drywall might not be suitable for the laundry room even if the walls will be covered with mesh. The ceiling I've stopped planning to just throw drywall on...
Should I buy another type of drywall for this laundry room, perhaps?
Doesn't mesh and wet room paint protect the ceiling and walls?

It's okay to use regular drywall in a standard laundry room. There are also no requirements that you must use wet room paint on the walls or ceiling.Yrrol said:I have actually bought 84 drywall sheets where I had planned to finish walls and ceilings in the future laundry room. But, now it occurred to me that drywall might not be suitable for the laundry room even though the walls will be woven. I haven't thought further than throwing drywall on the ceiling, then I stopped planning...
Should I buy a different drywall for this laundry room, perhaps?

I don't know if I'm right now, but last time I read the regulations, I don't think the 5cm rule applied to a laundry room... isn't it applicable if you have a water heater of X liters and then the volume of the heater should be calculated on the square meter area in the room, so that if it leaks, it should be "sealed" up to that level on the wall, meaning it can be higher than 5cm if you have a small room... but in a regular laundry room with a washing machine, that requirement doesn't exist... but I might be wrong there

However, gypsum and wet paint work excellently so your boards will be as molded!!!
