regarding Poland trip and trailer, HELP!!!
You know that the ferry trip becomes more expensive with a trailer? But maybe you take the land route?
I myself sweated with a hassle of a horse trailer on my first Poland trip and I won't do it again. Now I let Poltruck pick up the stuff.
If you really want a trailer, I think they sell it cheaply at Castorama. I don't know, however, how it will be with paperwork, etc. then.
Regards,
David

I've had the same problem,
1. Try borrowing privately,
2. It's possible to rent large boogie trailers cheaply in Poland, though sometimes it requires a Polish citizen to "pick up the trailer." That happened to me.
3. The best and cheapest option, as David writes, is to bring it home by truck, then you can load a lot and at the same time bring home a lot of groceries for half the price. Add up all the extra costs for the trailer, it won't be cheap. Many truck drivers "moonlight"

Since you really want to rent a trailer, I would bet on Preem. The money is significant, but it's just a deposit, and I would guess that you might be able to negotiate the deposit down a bit by showing that you are serious and that it would be entirely unreasonable for you to steal the trailer.
I remember when I rented a van at OKQ8, I paid the deposit with the OK card, and since there was a delay before receiving the invoice for it, I got the deposit back long before I needed to pay it. So it might not even be the case that you need to be out of pocket, if you have a card with deferred payment (and have a sufficiently high purchase limit).

Why cancel? Treat it as a mini-vacation and take the opportunity to fill the car with what fits. If you find material you want to buy, you can arrange home delivery on-site (the big stores offer this to your address). Stenaline offers pallet spaces on the ferry - you can pick up in the port the day after the goods are shipped.
If it's with Stenaline that you've booked, you can likely reschedule the date...

Does Poltruck have a website?
I'm going to Poland on Thursday with a pickup and boggisläp. It wasn't terribly expensive, about 4000 SEK round trip from Karlskrona.
In a Stockholm suburb, there are plenty of smaller rental places for trailers.
