Considering having recessed sliding doors instead of "regular" interior doors, as they don't take up as much space. Does anyone have any experience with these? Does the wall where the sliding door frame is mounted become very "hollow" (in terms of sound and feel)? Am I just building in problems within the wall that can't be accessed? I would need a 1.2m wide door, but all I find at door manufacturers are a maximum of 0.9m? I don't see any problems with wider doors if there is space available...or?

I have some (quite limited) experience, after having installed a sliding door. But it’s not so remarkable. It involves more mechanics than a regular door, and you need to plan the construction a bit more carefully. Now I only had drywall, but it didn't feel especially hollow, unless you stood and knocked exactly where there was a missing stud. If you use OSB+drywall, the weakening is probably completely unnoticeable.
