Hello,
I thought I might need some advice since I can't quite decide.
The thing is, I've leveled the floor and added insulation on the ground floor, and in the living room, there used to be a stove.
I'm planning to install a new stove there, but considering the floor has been raised by about 100mm, the old location for the stove is now too low. The stove used to be on the ant stack.
So my thought is either to pour concrete and lay tiles, or to use studs and lay gypsum as well as tiles.
The thing is, if you pour concrete, it could make it too rigid, preventing the chimney stack from moving as it needs to.
If you use studs, you probably don't want wood directly against stone/plaster, because of moisture migration. But you could place tar paper or space the studs away from the stone.
I'm leaning a bit towards using studs, it reduces the weight significantly since the concrete would weigh around 150kg + the stove at 180kg.
I would need some feedback since I can't quite decide...

The chimney breast will not move, concrete with reinforcement in it and a thin 5 mm foam around the edges separating the concrete from wood and chimney, it is loose but will not move. Then tiles on top, consider the height so it is level with the floor, maybe with an elegant brass strip in the joint between the tile and the floor.
