Hello everyone!

We're about to start on the girl's new bedroom in the basement and I've bought 6mm renovation plasterboards to attach to the walls since there's old wallpaper there today.

A few questions...

1. There used to be a disc valve without a pipe connection here. Is it just a matter of buying a new one and installing it directly on the new plasterboard? Just drill a hole?

Corner of a room with an old wall vent opening; the wall and ceiling show wear and aged textures, possibly prior to renovation.

Square wall opening with metal slats and wood frame, possibly an old vent, in a room with textured wallpaper.

2. There are two empty boxes at floor level. They only have a pipe connection downward and from what I can see, it only extends 15 cm down where it ends. Does anyone know why they are there? Can I put plaster over these and pretend they don't exist?

A hole in the wall close to the floor, possibly for an old ventilation plate, with visible damage and stains around it.

A round wall vent hole in an old textured wall above tile flooring, surrounded by chipped paint and exposed mesh.

Let's start with that. I have more questions that will come along the way 😀

Thanks!

1. can buy a square valve too.
2. if you don't want to use it, build again. but you can measure up and save the measurements.
