Considering the design of the staircase I'm going to build for my deck. The staircase will be 9.6m.
I'm considering making the stringers myself since the level difference is 41.5cm. I thought if I buy 45x145, then rout these so they become 13.8cm and stack three of them on top of each other? (See image) Is the best way to connect these using a piece of lumber laid on its side and screwed together or are joist hangers better to use?
Then I'm wondering whether it's best to have three 145 decking boards per step or two?
I had placed a rule piece and screwed it together instead of using nail plates.
Don't forget that the top step adds as much as the thickness of the intended lumber.
I placed the passport on the framework of the old deck, then I let the passport stick out a bit beyond, then I took the measuring tape to measure the height against the new deck's support beam.
As mentioned, it's hard to say if the height will be exact. Should the staircase stand on the existing decking to reach? Spontaneously, one step is enough.
Like this maybe?
The size of the lip can be discussed, I've calculated with 20mm

Nice! The reason the bottom piece is 104mm high is because you think it stands on top of the decking? I had planned to attach the stringers to the frame, so then that piece should also be 138mm high?
One uses the step formula to calculate tread depth in relation to riser height:
2x riser height + tread depth = 600 to 650 mm. Ideally 620 to 630. (A riser height of 170-180 is suitable.)
So the lower the riser height, the longer the tread depth.
Edit: So the tread depth of 350 mm as in the suggestion above feels quite optimal.
Edit 2: but measure from front edge to front edge of the overhang/lip.
Fancy! The reason the bottom piece is 104mm high is because you think it sits on top of the decking? I had planned to attach the stringers to the frame, so then that piece should be 138mm high?
Exactly, you subtract the decking thickness of 34mm, as I assumed you used 145x34 decking.
I interpreted your previous post as you were going to have the staircase on top of the decking, but you want it integrated? Like the first two figures in my post 8 show.

I was a bit unclear when I formulated it. It should be integrated, meaning the bottom piece should rest on the support beam/framework. I will cover it with the decking when I have mounted the stair strings. Thank you for your answers, they have really helped
