Quarter round does not fit threshold?

Hello,

I need to install a quarter round at the threshold of a newly installed door to cover a gap. As you can see in the pictures, there's a gap of several mm!? How is this supposed to work? I need to place the trim all the way to the edge.





I've installed some quarter rounds that extend out to the casing and never encountered this problem? What is the solution?

Notch out the quarter round from the door jamb so it fits flush against the threshold.

You can carve a little at the ends so the stick can rest against the threshold.

Aha, then we'll do that, was thinking more if I got the wrong threshold. Thanks!
