Putting up a shelf for the first time
I have managed to go through life without having to put up a shelf myself, but now it's time!
I am going to put up a shelf with three tiers on tracks (ikea boaxel) in my laundry room. No excessive weights but of course, I still want the shelf to withstand a lot. The wall is an exterior wall and from what I can gather, I have 13 mm drywall and then an 11 mm OSB board (then standing nail studs).
The manual states that I should use screws with a flat "head" 7mm for the horizontal rail and 8 mm for the vertical rail.
But, how do I know how long the screw should be?
And should I use a regular plug first or should I use a Molly plug or something else?
There is also an electrical cabinet on the outside of the house, roughly where the shelf is supposed to be. Is there a risk of drilling into cables and should the shelf be avoided there?
Welcome all possible input!
Best regards, all thumbs

If you can trust the information that it's drywall then OSB, you can buy almost any screws that are 25 mm for example, and your shelf will never fall down and no cable will get drilled. No plug is needed.
If it's a ribbed bar or a bed you were thinking of hanging on the wall, it would be different, but with regular shelves, it will hold great...🤔👍

And should I use a regular anchor first, or should I use a molly bolt or something else?
There’s also an electrical cabinet on the outside of the house, roughly where the shelf is supposed to be. Is there a risk that I might drill into cables and should I preferably avoid placing the shelf there?

If it's just painted or has wallpaper and you're worried about electricity in the wall, pre-drill with a small drill bit (about 2.5mm) that you let stick out about 25mm from the chuck. Then use a screw that just barely goes through the boards. I would suggest 30mm (goes through a couple of mm).
Pre-drilling is absolutely not a must, but it can make it easier for the inexperienced.
If it's tiled, you need longer screws and probably a tile drill bit.
This is the first time I've seen that type of shelving system that must be screwed into both the horizontal and vertical rails. The shelf will be very securely fastened.
