Hello!
We have a small concrete slab at our entrance that has been covered with a form board. We were planning to replace that board as it was in poor condition. We then noticed that parts of the concrete have come off behind it and exposed parts of the reinforcement, which has consequently rusted quite heavily.

Now I'm wondering what to do with the reinforcement before I cover it with a new form board?

Can I spray some rust protection or another simple solution? :)

Cracked concrete slab with exposed and rusted rebar, located at an entrance, showing damage that needs repair. Concrete slab with worn edges and exposed rebar near entrance steps, surrounded by dirt and scattered concrete pieces.

They are likely to last as long as the house stands there, even without any intervention.

Ahaa so it's more than enough to just cover it with a mold board then! Nice :D
