I am going to apply plaster (C) to the inside of the basement walls (not heated) and have inquired at several building stores about how I should do it. Some claim that I must prime/slurry with red primer others claim that it is enough to pre-water the LECA blocks.

Anyone with experience?

Now I have found three different documents from Maxit stating that Rödgrund is only needed for plastering outdoors. Yet it was the guy at Maxit's customer service who told me to use Rödgrund...

I used red primer on my Leca blocks and concrete bricks when I plastered my basement, and it worked great. I have also tried plastering directly on the Leca in a smaller room, and that works too.
