Went and bought a 45 * 45 mm wooden stud yesterday at Jom o Fix.

Untreated stud cost 14.95 per meter.
Impregnated (pressure-treated) cost 12.95 per meter.

Also checked with several construction companies, and untreated was more expensive there too.

Why is that? Does anyone have an explanation for why untreated is more expensive?

Better quality?

Thank you! Yes, that can of course be the case.

Can they have a larger volume and fewer lengths to stock in pre-printed than in regular white timber?

Has long been more expensive. It is probably because reglar are made of high quality spruce while tryckt is the lowest quality of pine.

Pressure-treated wood is also almost always sold with a lower margin than white wood.
