Hi,
A heat pump used to be here and now we have decided to remove it as we plan to switch to an air/water system eventually. My question is how to best seal the pipe hole and if I'm thinking correctly.

Inside, I place a piece of drywall cut to the size of the hole and then spackle over it (California patch).

Then I fill the hole with expanding foam.
A can of Illbruck FM810 foam sealant, 500ml, displayed on the Bauhaus website.
On the outside, I plan to use exterior filler to create a smooth surface that can be painted over.

Am I thinking correctly?

Remove the pipes and fill the entire hole, I think.

The way I had thought...
