I plan to build a wall shelf in my garage with shelves made of råspont. I happen to have a bunch of pressure-treated beams from a deck project that would be enough to build the shelf frame, but if I understand correctly, perhaps such wood should not be used indoors.

Is that correct?

Well, it contains poisons and you shouldn't build it in. But on the other hand, there are a couple of studs exposed on a garage wall. I wouldn't worry too much about it, partly because the exposure is so small, and partly because there are probably a thousand more dangerous things in an average garage. Think of it this way, would you have been worried about storing the studs inside the garage while waiting for the next project?

The biggest concern with storing studs indoors is that they become warped..
