hello everyone
I'm wondering if it's possible to pour a roof? Assuming the house can handle the weight and we instead focus on the roof aspect
So how would it work? I was thinking that you make a mold on the roof and pour the concrete; after the concrete has set, you use some sort of agent that makes the roof withstand moisture. Would that work?
Why? Because I want a sleek roof without any wrinkles, more like a flat floor as a roof, and I also want a green roof. So you mix in some green color pigments into the mix, then I think the result would be "different
".
Will it work, and if not, do you have any good suggestions for other ways to get a sleek green roof?

Sure it can be done.
It's like the top deck of a parking garage or so.
Many larger public buildings, like hospitals, have flat roofs.
However, it is quite a bit of work to ensure that you don't get moisture problems.

If it is a flat roof, then there are no issues. However, roofs are usually treated to become water-repellent, so getting a green roof might not be as simple. If you're looking for a pitched roof or something similar, it becomes trickier.
If you want a green roof, there are options like green felt, metal, or concrete tiles. Or you could get a truly green roof with plants on it. If your roof can withstand the weight of concrete, it can probably handle a green roof with plants. http://www.vegtech.se/sv/startsida.aspx
I have revised my houseboat design and I will have a completely flat roof. Because it's a houseboat, weight is very important. I wonder how many millimeters are needed for it to withstand rain for a maximum of 3 years. I will place a terrace over it if that makes any difference
.
If you have any other good solutions, please share!
To summarize.
I need a roof that can last <3 years; it doesn't need to be pretty as I will place a large terrace over it, and it shouldn't weigh too much. I think there should be some other material than concrete, but concrete is very easy to work with.

hehe thanks for the tip, damn forgot about that :blushing:mats_o said:
I wonder if it would work to just lay roofing felt and then the terrace over it? The waves will probably remove water if it rains.
