Porous lightweight concrete interior wall - plaster instead of spackling?
Hello!
We are renovating our apartment from the 1940s, have removed old wallpaper, and found a very porous wall underneath, made of lightweight concrete I guess. There are larger holes up to 5 cm deep in it, and some parts sound "hollow" when you tap on them.
From this forum, I understand that repairing the holes can be done fairly easily with plaster mortar/plaster putty. Then I have read in several places that it might be a good option for the entire wall as well, considering it is very uneven, and I am afraid the putty will not adhere properly but just pull out more material from the wall. I think that in the worst case, if it does not become smooth enough, we can apply a skim coat of fine putty afterward and sand before painting.
Is this something one can reasonably do themselves without much experience? What should one keep in mind? Do you need to install plaster mesh in any way first? Is there plaster putty that can be sanded?
Thanks in advance!

Mja, I would probably "fill" with, for example, Husfix, cement, or fine concrete. The risk is, as mentioned, otherwise it might come off in the holes.
Thanks for the response! I initially bought husfix but haven't opened it yet, and then I saw some discussions on this forum about fixing holes in porous lightweight concrete walls, and almost always there seem to be some who recommend opting for gypsum plaster instead, for example here:

And then I read that you can even use the same material instead of filler for painting on top afterward, and thus I got inspired
