Anyone know if it's okay to use polyester/fiberglass on plastic pipes like sewer pipes?

Not if they're new sewer pipes in PP (polypropylene). Nothing adheres to these. If they are older models in PVC, it is possible with the right primer.Enk Projektet said:

Regular brown packing tape works better
As Johan says, there is no adhesion to pp, but it depends a bit on what you are going to use it for. If you sand with coarse paper and laminate around the pipe, it stays in place thanks to the shrinkage when it cures, but there is no guarantee that it is tight.

I have painted my car door panels which I'm 99% sure are PP. According to my old painting teacher, I was supposed to roughen the plastic, heat it to about 60 degrees, apply plastic primer and an epoxy base, then filler and topcoat.Johan Gunverth said:

But then you probably want it to release from the pipe so you get the gap part loose, in that case pp is excellent, just wax it once and then cast. Have cast many exhaust pipes for boats that way.
