80s house with slab on grade floating floor
Planning to replace or lay a new floor, I think it smells a bit musty, damp by one of the baseboards in the living room. How do you lay membrane flooring, do I put it directly on the chipboard and then the floor, or how do you do it as a beginner. Where does the smell or air go when you lay membrane flooring?

Well, in cross-section they look like this concrete, Platon, insulation, chipboard, floor.
The air circulates up along gaps towards the walls and with either purchased or home-made baseboards that don't completely seal against the walls so the air can move. That was the big picture, for more detailed information check the installation instructions

By insulation do you mean Styrofoam, or should one also frame?P Patzie said:Well, in cross-section they look like this concrete, Platon, insulation, chipboard, floor.
