I have a hallway that needs fixing and I just stumbled upon a shelving system on brackets for a great price. I'm thinking of mounting it on the wall and installing sliding doors. But the thing is, it's a drywall, so how do I do that? I have the idea that it might be easiest to put up some sort of board directly on the drywall and secure it with proper screws into the studs behind the drywall, right? What type of board is best for this if so?

No answers? Since you're using OSB+gypsum, it should work with gypsum+OSB as well, right? Plenty of screws into the studs and then gypsum screws on the rest? Could it cause any problems if I do it this way?

The shelves are about 40 cm out from the wall, there will be quite a heavy load on them since it's a hallway closet with many outer garments, and my tool stock will also end up there.
I have simple plasterboard and no OSB, that's why I thought of putting OSB on the outside instead.

Soon time to buy the tiles, anyone want to join the discussion before then?

But Kulle, would it work with 15 mm OSB instead? Much cheaper indeed.

I might have checked poorly, because I perceived that the plywood sheets were both more expensive and smaller. I'm tied to Byggmax to avoid several miles of transport. I'll check again.
