Plastered basement walls, but then what?
I have plastered basement walls with Serpo 135. An outer and an inner wall. When you run your hand over the wall, a little sand comes off from certain spots. I would like to paint the walls, but I'm not sure if I can just go ahead?
Didn't it say anything about drying time before painting on the bag of Serpo? Exterior walls are usually painted with paint that allows moisture to pass through, they should know that at a proper paint store.
Check the Serpo manufacturer's website otherwise, especially when it comes to different types of mortar, I've found a lot of good info from the manufacturers.
Some sand will fall from plastered walls if you don't coat them with something.

Even better is to paint with lime paint. It is significantly cheaper and completely superb in terms of moisture permeability. Very fresh. I also believe it will prevent the sand from crumbling.
Tip, buy lime paint at Sto. I think it can also be mixed in colors other than white, if you want that.

No, you don't need to brush. But let it dry for a month or preferably two. Especially now when it's humid outside. The things that are outdoors you should paint in the spring when it has been dry for a week or so. Use a paint that lets the wall breathe, e.g., silicate paint.
