Hello
Today I got the keys to our new house. It's from the 60s, and almost all the interior walls are concrete, but the wallpaper is hard to remove. It's uneven, and I want to add additional wiring, so I want to drywall. It's a split-level house, and the rooms in question are above ground. What's the best way to do this?
Glue drywall directly to the concrete wall with the wallpaper using something like pl600, pros/cons; install battens first as spacers against the concrete and then screw the drywall on (issues with attaching things to the wall in the gaps, which becomes single drywall with air behind it (molly bolts might work but build up behind?), install OSB first on the concrete then drywall (not much to screw into there either for things like a shelf 13+Anything between 11-18mm, skip drywall completely and plaster (risk of cracking where the electricians cut in? If so, how to resolve, tape the cut and plaster well around it?
Any other suggestions I'm not thinking of? As I said, I want to drywall the rooms and be able to screw in practically anywhere to hang things when everything is done.
Grateful for input!
