I'm going to tile in the laundry room soon where there's 13mm drywall on the walls, is it okay to tile on that or do I need to put up another board? The studs are spaced at 600mm, and if I need to add another layer of drywall, is there some sort of extension ring or something for the electrical boxes in the wall since they will be too far in otherwise?

Shifting the joint with a new layer of plasterboard makes it more stable. and there are rings available for purchase for the device boxes
