Raising this thread because I am also interested in an answer. I have a basement from -43 with walls made of concrete hollow blocks. Ground moisture has seeped into the walls so that paint and plaster have come off in many places (previous owners foolishly painted the wall with non-breathable latex paint...).
Now I want to redo it correctly. I have already re-drained and laid ground insulation outside the walls, but I expect there will still be some ground moisture coming up under the walls and slab. I want to re-plaster the bottom half meter of the walls (inside the basement, that is) and then paint with breathable silicate-based paint, but what plaster should I ask for? I don't expect the clerks at K-Rauta or Bauhaus to have eagle-eyed knowledge, but rather try to sell me some plaster that turns out to be wrong. Brand/Name if possible, thanks!
