Hello!

I need some tips and advice.

I have a wall made of leca that also serves as an exterior wall and retaining wall. Isodrän is on the outside.
Now I need to fix it up on the inside. But I'm not sure what to do? The finish isn't super important as it's in a garage that will be used.... :)

One thought I had was to plaster the wall with fine concrete and a steel trowel? Gypsum plaster or regular filler seems a bit silly on an exterior wall, right?

Anyone have any suggestions?

Fine concrete is not workable, use Putsbruk B.

Hydraulic lime mortar works well too.

Thanks for the reply! :)

I have polished a small area with finbetong and I actually think it turns out quite okay!
And it feels like the concrete also gives a harder wall than plaster.

With plaster, do I need to apply a redgrund first as well? Or?

Thanks! :)

I have slapped plaster directly on leca and it stays...

Even though one might think it creates a nice hard surface, it can become too hard. The slightest microscopic settlement and the "shell" cracks. Therefore, weaker materials are typically used on the outside compared to the core (or underlying plaster). I would probably choose a weaker mortar for plastering purposes than what finer concrete is.

Have used B-bruk on leca works fine, concrete is not so good as I understand

A big thank you for all the tips and thoughts!!
Exactly what I needed to hear! :)

It'll probably be to use B-bruk then. I'm going to paint the wall white with silicate afterward, so it doesn't matter if you get the classic grid pattern in the plaster! :)

Do you pre-water the leca blocks before applying the plaster?
