Hello, I have a basement that I want to plaster and furnish to live in. Organic materials, etc., are understood, but can I plaster the basement walls with something like sand filler?

I've received different opinions. Are there any good solutions besides smoothing the walls?

Grateful for any responses, both good and bad ;)

Putty is absorbent. Don't putty like the idiots who had my house before did, it wasn't a great job. And it wasn't fun to get rid of the mess either.

Not spackel, got it!

But there must be something other than plaster. Something that can give you smooth walls.

You should use Puts.

I read about some panels that you could put up in the basement instead of plastering but unfortunately I don't remember what they were called right now, has anyone else heard about it?

Maybe it will look nice with tiles and a rug that you hang in front. Or build a loose wall a bit out from the wall that is open all around. It does take up some of the room, but you avoid a lot of problems.

It should work to glue aquapanel or another cement-based board on the walls and then fill with some fix.

Plaster with husfix?

Aquapanel doesn't breathe, does it? If the wall doesn't breathe and becomes damp, it can lead to mold and a bad odor.
