Placing granite blocks for stone staircase

Hello!

We have the granite blocks lying as seen in the picture that were meant to be the steps at the entrance:



I'm considering doing the job myself and must admit I've never done anything like this before.

Cramo offered a Volvo l30


with forks.

Now I'm wondering: Is it possible to solve this without a suitable lifting clamp and only using forks? With straps?

Lifting strap or sling

It is possible and one just needs to remember that it cannot be placed directly on the spot without first getting the straps out before the final lowering. Support underneath with joists and use a joist/bar as leverage. Pull out a joist and repeat.

The person operating the machine should be aware of how you are doing it and, above all, they and the rest of you should always keep track of where the hands are.
