How do I best facilitate upcoming paintings?
Painting next to the brick is difficult and I can't reach the end grain, which is the most sensitive part. Should I install a cover cap to protect against water? Or an upright strip next to the brick that can be removed when painting?

  • White wood paneling next to red brick wall with a concrete base. Discussion on ease of painting and protection against water damage.
  • Corner of a brick house with adjacent patio and plants; query about painting near bricks and protecting end grain with cover or removable slat.
I would be content to let the ends stand and soak up primer for a day and then be properly painted.

When repainting, I would just leave it, if you can't see the end, no new paint is needed there.
