I'm planning to put up a partition wall in the garage to have a storage area at the back and a workshop in the main part. I want to be able to hang heavy things on the wall, so there will be some form of wooden board on both sides of the studs.

The question: Should you have drywall on such a wall? Fire? Other reasons?

I would definitely also use drywall. So OSB or plywood + drywall. It stands up to fire better and it's easier to make it look nice.

I put OSB + plasterboard, as in the rest of the garage.
Chipboard + plasterboard is probably an alternative as well.

Thank you. I'll calculate a bit on thicknesses for different options, I have a door with a frame standing that I was thinking of using, the frame is about 100 deep.
