Particle boards with adjustment screws a'la Nivell(?)
My carpenter talked about a chipboard flooring system where there are adjustment screws in the chipboard, similar to what Nivell has in their frames, to lay on an uneven basement floor. Can't find anything on my friend in need (Google). I was supposed to get more info tomorrow. Does anyone know more already? (Don't take my description as truth, because he himself sounded a bit unsure about the construction...)
Shouldn't it be a bit trickier to lay than Nivell? I think it would be difficult to fit the boards and adjust them level when you can't fully see what you're doing and might also have to stand on the boards at the end? Adjusting a framework isn't that hard, but an entire floor with particle boards?
Possible. I want low construction height. Nivell or similar feels like they build higher because you need a framework first and then a 22mm chipboard. I’ll keep googling 😀DIY_freak said:
As a reference. I am building Granab's system now 33sqm with ventilation. I paid 515:-sqm up to the beam including the fan and all pipes in the floor. No chipboard included. Shipping and tool rental were additional to the price. However, I will get the tool cost back if I return everything.Hawkai said:
The fan system cost 8875:- including VAT with design and the beam system cost 8125 including VAT.
Nivell and Granab cost about the same.
I've heard Giha is supposed to be a more expensive system, so I never requested a quote. I got a price of 12000 from JAPE including fan and mat that builds really low but it fell through as it became more expensive than Granab/Nivell because of the need for leveling compound to level the floor.
I also wanted a lower build height, but the designer managed to fit 30 mm pipes under the floor with sufficient flow. I end up at about 62mm up to the chipboard, so completely OK. Giha builds at least 52mm.
It seemed that 33sqm was just on the edge for 30mm pipes, but we managed it with 2 exhaust pipes from the fan.
I have only positive things to say about Granab otherwise. They are really helpful and nice despite being a very small customer.
