Hello

Our parking spot in Croatia is somewhat of a tourist magnet for others to park their cars.

Therefore, I was thinking of purchasing one of these down at Bauhaus Croatia (see image).

But the surface is stone slabs, what do you think is the best way to make it stick? Maybe dig down a post base? Or use concrete?
Also, I don't have much of a selection of tools down there, so the simplest possible option is appreciated.

  • A metal parking barrier with a U-shaped design and red reflective strips on its arms, suitable for installation on stone pavements.
  • A parking area with stone paving slabs and a concrete wall in Croatia, showing potential surfaces for installing parking barriers.

Can't you just drill and fasten it with plugs in the tiles? But I assume this is a rented parking space? What does the landlord say?

Then you can just pull up the bracket along with the ground plate. It is too weak. I would weld the bracket onto a larger metal plate and then screw into a number of paving stones.

Isn't that more to be seen as a statement rather than an obstacle?

Hi, it's a private parking spot, so it's fine. The easiest thing might be, as you say, to secure it with plugs, but now that I look at the picture again, maybe not on the tile but around the actual frame, it seems to be cast concrete, maybe it's best to do it that way.

Neat and sturdy if you pick up stones, dig out and pour concrete and reinforce, put back all the stones except two where the mounts are.

I think the above suggestion is overkill. Drill and screw directly into the paving stone with concrete screw.

Since it is just a marker and not an actual barrier, proceed with the simplest possible installation, either in the concrete edge around the parking or in the cobblestones. You will see this most easily on site when you know the size of the bracket.
