Paranoid thought

Have lined the interior of the porch with protective plastic to avoid splashing on painted surfaces when I clean with terrace cleaner. I'm now going away for the weekend and am starting to wonder if it might be dangerous to leave the plastic, which is heavily exposed to the sun and heat? Fire hazard?

I would mostly be worried that the tape (which I assume the plastic is attached with) sticks... that's a pretty well-known phenomenon, hard to remove, if not impossible.

Wood -> I think <- can ignite at 70 degrees, the plastic will probably melt before it starts to burn. If you don't have chemicals standing under the plastic, there shouldn't be any danger.

Well... Wood has an ignition temperature around 400-500 °C? I can promise that there are wooden decks that get warmer than 70 °C when the sun is blazing at its worst.

Depends on how dry the wood is.

It takes very special circumstances for wood, or anything else for that matter, to spontaneously ignite at 70 degrees. There would be problems with wooden benches in saunas otherwise.
