Panel on wooden wall.

Don't know where to ask so I'm trying here!
We have exposed the old inner wall, the rough plank wall. I'm now wondering if I can simply put windpaper (to reduce drafts) and panel directly on the wall without framing anything???

Is it an exterior wall? How is the insulation in the exterior wall? Are you going to have any electrical outlets? Is the wall straight?

Otherwise, you just have to nail the panel directly to the wooden plank.

Oh, yes, it's an outer wall, the insulation is ooollld but it will be re-insulated from the outside next summer. Of course, we're going to have electrical outlets, but we live in a 1920s house that's supposed to look old, so it will have exposed wiring in an old style, so that's fine. And the wall is fairly straight, nothing you can see with the naked eye anyway! :-D

So it's just a matter of going ahead then?
