Panel material
I see that it is in MDF, you could certainly also use MDF-board directly to get more options in terms of thickness - thicker masonite seems to need special ordering. https://www.bauhaus.se/vit-lackboard-101-matt-3-0mm.htmlPeterHog said:

but you don't have to have homogeneous masonite to make it thicker...........it's perfectly fine to glue regular thin on gypsum as well.

I made a raised skirting board and used 4 mm MDF for the base surface. Södra has a dado rail with a 4 mm rebate. It might be a bit of a skimpy moulding with a high panel, but in my case, it worked well. I had to butt cut edges against each other to splice, it probably wouldn't have turned out as well with masonite.

Okay, yes I don't need to splice anywhere so that's not a problem, too bad they don't have that chair rail at our XL-bygg though :/Bernieberg said:

I ordered the list from the local Woody, it was Google that led me to XL in Älmhult
. They can surely order it if they sell Södra's range.

I would probably choose pine plywood for the best result, especially considering the subsequent painting. Secondly, MDF. With the use of a router, you can relatively easily create the desired rabbet yourself. You can also go to a local specialist carpentry shop and ask them to do the routing with the desired dimension.
