Hello!
We have just had our lecablock walls in the souterrain floor plastered, and now it's time to paint. There isn't direct ground contact with the walls, but we are still going to treat them as if they were basement walls. The surface is not entirely smooth plastered but has some small holes (just as we want it).

We want a Greek style with white walls. We have seen this in older houses where we assume limewash was used (because of lime plaster underneath).

Now to the questions.

What type of paint should we use?

Are the options to roll or spray?

Can limewash be used on cement plaster (serpa 224)?

Many questions, but we simply want to have white walls in a cheap and easy way.

Best regards, Henrik and Camilla

Use either a KC paint (Serpo 244) or a silicate paint (Serpo 303).

choose from the two types above as suggested by ktm250.
You can completely exclude lime paint as it adheres very poorly to cement plaster if it adheres at all...

What is most cost-effective, rolling or spraying? (assuming you can rent a paint sprayer)

Rolla is cheaper because the consumption is generally a bit higher when spraying and possibly machine rental is added if you don't know someone who has one or similar.
e.g. KC-färg 244 Rolla=0.7 kg/m² Spruta=1.0 kg/m²

Is it possible to use a regular fully matte ceiling paint for lecavägg indoors?
Many people paint the chimney with regular indoor water-based paint.
& in this situation (indoors) I'm not dependent on the paint needing to
breathe ?????
