Anyone know if you can paint over silicon "Danalim 577" with outdoor acrylic paint? I can't find anything about it in their product information.

As far as I know, there is no silicone that can be painted over.

Choose acrylic sealant instead!

I mostly use polymer sealants nowadays. I think it outperforms silicone except possibly in bathrooms and similar areas.

No. Silicone cannot be painted over with anything other than silicone-based paint. It is a property that depends on the molecular structure of the substance itself.

As mentioned, choose another type of sealant.

An example of an inorganic polymer is silicone plastic, which consists of polysiloxanes, where the chain is built up of silicon and oxygen atoms

Ok. Need to go shopping tomorrow.
I need a sealing compound to fill a gap around 1-2mm wide between two outdoor cladding boards. One that can be painted over. Is there any that is sandable? Like putty. What should I buy then?

Plastic Padding Elastic maybe? I reused facade panel boards 26 years ago and filled the old nail holes with it before repainting, and it still holds.

Plastic Padding Elastic perhaps? ...
Was just thinking of that too :)
Easy to work with, easy to sand, hardens quickly, and can be painted over with anything.

But despite the name "Elastic," it is quite inelastic once it has hardened. I used it a lot on my boats in the past.

Bought a can and smeared it on. Turned out pretty darn good.
