Going to buy some lumber and will need to cut it to fit into the car. I know you can borrow a handsaw, but it's a hassle when there's a lot to cut. Does anyone know how they usually feel about using your own battery-powered saw either inside at the saw station or outside in the parking lot?

If you have only paid for the timber, you can saw it as much as you want.

No problems.

Rickard.
I don't think it's very popular to start bulk cutting a lot indoors without a chip extractor, but with a little logic and consideration, no one has ever said anything to me before.

Saw on the parking lot. Some places have sawing tables outdoors, which is good for safety, otherwise, it works to lock the wheels on a cart and use it as support.

How has the place set up the saw table with the accompanying dull handsaw?

At a place like Bauhaus drive through, where they often stand outside where you can only end up after you've paid, no one cares at all what you do. The risk is rather that the guy next to you, who wants to avoid the dull handsaw, wants to borrow your machine.

At other places, I would recommend asking, and it's usually okay. Last time at Beijer, I brought my circular saw and asked since the saw station was before the natural payment point. Even though they verbally agreed, I got looks like I was an idiot from others besides the one I was talking to, so it was obviously not completely common. It should be mentioned that they didn't have their own cutting station, so it wasn't a matter of skimping on their fee.

Most people probably also want to measure uncut timber, and sometimes it's impossible to even fit things like building boards in the car without sawing, etc. I always hesitate to go to the lumber yard, especially when I only need a small amount, so I don't want a trailer.

I've never had a problem cutting with my own cordless saw. I've always swept up the sawdust if they don't have a place to cut. Karl Hedin has an electric miter saw for customers.
