Hello,
I am going to cast/flow a slope on a terrace I am building. It is a multi-family house and this is an attic that will become an apartment with a terrace. The bottom layer is the concrete slab. On top of that, we have now installed 50mm polystyrene insulation (for outdoor use) which is fairly firm and stable. Now we are going to cast the slope towards the drain. Once that is done, the rubber company will come and lay the rubber membrane. On top of that, there will be tiles.
I want the slope casting to be as thin as possible. Preferably around 1cm at the drain and about 5cm at the highest points. The terrace is 5 square meters - 3m x 1.7m. The designer has specified that I should use regular concrete with rebar. The rubber company thinks I should use a mortar with chicken wire as reinforcement for the slope. I have leveled some bathroom floors before and it went well. Does anyone have any opinions on how best to do this?
