I poured a concrete slab as a patio last year, and now it's time to lay tiles on it. The problem is that there are a few dips that need to be filled... and the big question is, with what?!

Level with adhesive - takes forever to dry and water may stay in the adhesive.
Level the entire surface with self-leveling compound - too expensive
Level with concrete - a thin layer will definitely detach like a wafer over the years
Level with outdoor self-leveling compound - will it hold up? Or will it become like a wafer on top of the wafer?
Any other tips?

Grind down the concrete so it becomes smooth ;)

Had also rented an ABS grinder with a slightly coarser diamond blade. It doesn't cost much to rent and is easy to operate. Patching on horizontal surfaces outdoors is never really good, in my opinion, there's a high risk of frost damage.
