Hi, I'm planning to put up OSB and gypsum on the walls. I noticed that the OSB boards at Byggmax are 10mm thick while most other sellers almost exclusively have boards that are 11mm thick. Does this matter?
They have the same price on 12mm constructions plywood, which is a better product. Use that instead. OSB is a budget alternative, but its price has surged this year. So it's not cheaper.
Thank you very much for the tip. If it's as you say, I'll go with that instead.D Daniel 109 said:
How does 12mm plyfa compare to 15mm plywood? I'm considering a wall where I plan to fasten heavier items.
Plywood is also a brand. I think that plyfa was originally slang for plywood.
OSB has gone up like crazy in price at most places. I was at Byggmax on Thursday to buy OSB, 249 SEK per sheet, and they had plywood for the same price, so I bought the last plywood they had left and the rest OSB. Today, when I was almost done, I was missing one OSB so I had to buy one more for 349 SEK now, and 349 SEK for plywood. The thicker models were even more expensive. The store manager at Byggmax said that they will probably go up even more as their purchase prices increase.
