We are building with LBhus and have reached the options stage. We were thinking of adding both insulation and OSB boards, but it's quite expensive so we're considering only having OSB on the interior walls instead. What we are wondering is if it has a certain insulating effect or should we add insulation to make it feel OK?
Insulation in interior walls is mainly for soundproofing, right?
Then the insulation shouldn't fill the entire cavity but only 1/3, meaning if the wall is framed with 70mm, you should insulate with about 25mm. Is it really that expensive?

I think we received an incorrect price on insulation when we discussed additional options 450:-/meter. They can't charge that much, can they? I have heard of about 6,000:- in total. But OSB boards were expensive. Just over 18,000:- for the interior walls, so we're thinking that if they themselves dampen sound, maybe we can skip the insulation. So the question is whether OSB boards alone are sufficient for soundproofing?
OSB costs about 45 SEK/m2 and the installation about 20 SEK/m2. The insulation is around 40 SEK per square meter including labor. OSB has one function and insulation another. With OSB, you get a heavier construction which makes the soundproofing better, especially against normal sounds, such as speech and other noises. While wood isn't optimal, it's okay in this context. The insulation takes care of internal resonances, just like insulation in a speaker cabinet. This means you avoid amplification at the frequencies where the wall resonates. The insulation then absorbs these frequencies somewhat instead of, in the worst case, amplifying them.
I would bet on construction plywood instead of OSB when it's going to be done anyway. It may differ by 3-4000:- in total, but you get a proper board to screw into...

We have about 155 sqm. Essentially, we are looking to get soundproofing, and in that case, it's probably better to focus on the actual insulation. We will likely skip OSB. We've concluded that it's really only in the laundry room where it would be necessary because we're going to put up a few wall cabinets there. In the kitchen, I'm hoping the company can simply handle it in a good way. We were in a summer cottage during the midsummer weekend, and I could hear the other guests snoring through the wall, so we definitely need some kind of soundproofing anyway.

Mineral wool is a name for stone wool
, glass wool is another insulation material in the MU category.
You'll probably get the best soundproofing with the heaviest MU boards.
That is, (super expensive) west coast boards (among other names) provide the most soundproofing.
Cheaper and better with double plasterboard + the cheapest 45mm MU roll from byggmax.
I think, anyway ...
